ROBERT WILSON

ROBERT WILSON
"ROBERT IS EMO"

There are times when I
want society to
burn like
a lost moth and
there are times when
I want it to coddle me
as if I were
the shivering child in
the gutter outside its
messy home.
I hope you
understand that
sulfur will always
swim in my
tears and I
seem to
lament for breathing.
You can run away
if you wish. I've been
trying to do the same but
my body always
seems to catch up
to me, the
lumbering mess
that it is. I saw a
solitary star shining on
one of those excursions.
It illuminated the world
in an ignition of
hope before falling into
the Appalachian Mountains and
dying the way
all sparkling things
do.
